Louisa Marshall
Louisa (Lou) Marshall is a senior news editor for In Touch Weekly, Life & Style Weekly, Closer Weekly and J-14, bringing her years of editorial judgment (and witty banter) to the team. When she’s not constantly converting Pacific Coast Time to Eastern Standard – what a hard life it is to live in sunny California – Lou’s either watching The Crown or sinking her teeth into a new novel. Anyone else a fan of It Ends With Us?
Work or writing background leading to expertise
With more than half a decade of experience in print, digital and broadcast news media, Lou lends her skillset to the editorial processes, reporting goals, visual and social media outputs, event coverage and community approaches all four publications demand. Her work across the multiple sites allows her to bring her sharp editing skills to the forefront, ensuring that not a detail slips through the cracks. A breaking news junkie, Lou jumps at every opportunity to get ahead of the news curve.
Education
Lou graduated cum laude with a degree in history with emphasis on gender politics from Chapman University. In addition to her work in the history, journalism and political science departments, she was the editor-in-chief of her university’s newspaper and the president of the history academic honors society.
