Tyra Banks has an exciting new TV gig!
The 43-year-old model will replace Nick Cannon as the latest host of America's Got Talent for the hit show's upcoming 12th season. AGT judge Howie Mandel first announced the news via Twitter on Sunday, March 12.
"Please welcome @TyraBanks to the @NBCAGT family! She's our new host. #TyraBanks #AGT," the 61-year-old star wrote on the micro-blogging site.

Tyra later confirmed she's joining America's Got Talent via Twitter, too! "Surprise! TyTy is the new host of #AGT! Can't wait to work with [my] new family, @OfficialMelB, @HowieMandel, @HeidiKlum, and, @SimonCowell," the star wrote.
Nick recently resigned from the series in a controversial Facebook post. In the message, he claimed NBC threatened to terminate his contract after Nick made racially-insensitive jokes during his Showtime special, Nick Cannon: Stand Up, Don’t Shoot.

"I find myself in a dark place having to make a decision that I wish I didn't have to, but as a man, an artist and a voice for my community, I will not be silenced, controlled, or treated like a piece of property," Mariah Carey's ex-husband wrote on the social media site.
"Not to get too detailed but this isn't the first time executives have attempted to 'put me in my place' for so-called unruly actions. I will not stand for it," Nick continued. "My moral principles will easily walk away from the millions of dollars they hang over my head."
Tyra's new AGT gig is far from her first foray into TV. She previously served as a host and judge of America's Next Top Model — a show which she also created! — for 12 years from 2003 until 2015. The star additionally hosted her own daytime talk show, The Tyra Banks Show, from 2005 to 2010.
