Who wouldn't want to be like the most beloved royal of all time? A childhood friend of Meghan Markle has claimed that the soon-to-be-wife of Prince Harry wants to fill the void left by his mom and become "Princess Diana 2.0" for the British people.
“I’m not shocked at all [by the engagement],’’ her old friend Ninaki Priddy told the Daily Mail on Tuesday, Nov. 28. “It’s like she has been planning this all her life.” The friend detailed how they visited England as teenagers, and Meghan immediately fell in love with the royals. “She was always fascinated by the royal family. She wants to be Princess Diana 2.0. She will play her role ably. But my advice to him is to tread cautiously,’’ said the pal, who also describes Meghan as being "pushy" from an early age.
Ninaki makes Meghan seem a little bit devious, but Meghan sounded totally innocent during her official engagement interview. As a matter of fact, she said she didn't know much about her future hubby before meeting him. “Because I’m from the States, you don’t grow up with the same understanding of the royal family," she explained. "And so, while I now understand very clearly there is a global interest there, I didn’t know much about him, and so the only thing that I had asked [a friend] when she said she wanted to set us up was, I have one question: ‘Well, is he nice?’ Because if he wasn’t kind, it just didn’t seem like it would make sense."
We don't think it's shady for Meghan to have dreamed of being a princess as a child; what girl doesn't? If she's modeling herself after the sweet, caring, charitable Princess Diana, then we think she's going to be an amazing addition to the royal family, and the country!
