He doesn't just play a hero in his films, he's an actual hero in real life, too! Harrison Ford came to the rescue on Sunday, Nov. 19 and he saved a woman from a really scary car accident. The actor — who is known for his brave, heroic roles in movies like Star Wars and Indiana Jones — did not hesitate to rush to the woman's side.
The 75-year-old was driving east on California State Route 126 in Santa Paula when he noticed that a woman driving in the car in front of him had accidentally driven her vehicle off the road, TMZ reported. Eyewitnesses claim that the woman lost control of her car and crashed into an embankment and Harrison immediately pulled over to rush to the woman's aid along with several other good Samaritans. Together, they were able to help get the woman out of the car as they waited for paramedics to arrive. Local law enforcement revealed that the unidentified woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
This isn't the first time Harrison has shown off his heroic side. Back in September, he was captured on video directing traffic in NYC's Midtown Tunnel after cars were stuck in standstill traffic because of a car crash pile up inside the tunnel. In video footage obtained by TMZ, Harrison can be seen standing just at the entrance to the tunnel, helping cars back up so that they can get out of the tunnel and merge into a separate lane.
But while Harrison is used to being a hero in real life and playing one in movies, sometimes he makes mistakes too. Earlier this year, Harrison was involved in a scary plane incident when he mistook a taxiway for a landing strip. He allegedly flew his private plane dangerously close to the top of an American Airlines flight with 110 passengers and a six-person crew on board.
