It's official! After nine years together, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie tied the knot in a private ceremony this past Saturday at their estate in France!
The wedding comes a little over two years after the Ocean's Eleven actor popped the question with a custom engagement ring he designed for his bride-to-be. According to a spokesman for the couple, Brad and Angie's six children played major roles in their parents' big day.
Maddox, 13, and Pax, 10, walked their 39-year-old mom down the aisle, while Shiloh, 8, and Knox, 6, served as ring bearers and Zahara, 9, and Vivienne, 6, threw petals.
The A-list duo had always planned on holding the affair at Château Miraval in the French village of Correns, where they first settled in 2008. The extensive property stretches over 1,100 acres and features a 35-room main house, ancient chapel and working vineyard.
The Tourist star walked down the aisle in a white dress, which, according to an E! News source, was "very traditional, but very Angie, it was comfortable but plain white floor-length antique lace and silk." She is also rumored to have worn something that once belonged to her late mother, Marcheline Bertrand.
The same source reveals Brad and the boys wore cream linen suits and the 50-year-old actor gasped when he lifted his bride's veil "because she looked so stunning."
The timing of the event was also deliberate, given summer 2014 marks the 10th anniversary of their meeting on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie: A Timeline of Their Nine-Year Romance
Though not at the nuptials, good friend George Clooney has already congratulated the newlyweds, telling ET, "How great is that?! I'm really happy for Brad and Angie and their whole family."
Over the past couple of years, the pair have been extremely busy with work, filming all over the world. Angelina also underwent a double mastectomy in 2013 as a preventive measure, given she's a carrier for the mutative gene BRCA1. All of this had a hand in delaying the wedding date.
Up next for the Hollywood duo: co-starring in the highly-anticipated drama, By the Sea, their first on-screen reunion since 2005. Angelina is also set to direct the film.
The news was first reported by the Associated Press. Sources spoke to both E! and ET.
