According to the Associated Press, the money will be given to anyone who can divulge the location of the slippers and the perpetrator's name. The sequined footwear — previously insured for $1 million and now worth an estimated $2-3 million — are thought to be have been stolen out of one of the museum's windows in 2005. They were on loan to the Grand Rapids, Minn. (Judy's hometown) establishment from collector Michael Shaw.

"It's the worst nightmare for me," Shaw said of the theft at the time, according to The Guardian. "The theft is not only a crime against me, but against children. Those shoes have been used to raise money for AIDS, for helping get kids off the street, reading programs, and for children with Down's syndrome and autism."
