Tom Cruise Is Reportedly Trying To Rebuild His Relationship With Suri: ‘He Wants To Be Part Of Her Life’
It’s been over five years since Tom Cruise was last seen publicly with Suri, but he’s reportedly hoping to rebuild their relationship. The actor wants to play a bigger role in her life going forward and he’s taking extra steps to reconnect with his daughter.
“Tom’s been in contact with Suri more and more over the last few months and has made it clear that he wants to be part of her life again,” a source told Grazia UK. “He’s been sending her gifts and writing her letters in a bid to try and reconnect with his daughter all of which have been working.” The last time the Academy Award nominee and his daughter, 12, were photographed together was in September 2013, shortly after Tom and Katie Holmes, 39, finalized their divorce.
“Tom is believed to have reached out to Katie to meet face-to-face to discuss relations with Suri,” the insider added. “He is obviously a deeply private person who will do all of this behind closed doors, but Tom has made his intentions clear.” So why doesn’t Tom see Suri more often?
It’s theorized his role as an active member of Scientology impacted his decision. An insider previously told In Touch that Tom, 56, stayed away from Suri because Katie was labeled a “suppressive person” after leaving the church of Scientology. Due to her association with Katie, Tom’s young daughter is also reportedly seen as a “potential trouble source.”
In addition to Suri, Tom has two children with his ex Nicole Kidman — 25-year-old Bella and 23-year-old Connor. As of now, Tom is reportedly in the process of filming his new action-packed flick Top Gun: Maverick, which is expected for release in 2020, according to IMDB. Meanwhile, Katie and Suri were last spotted enjoying some mother-daughter time in NYC over the weekend. Perhaps, Tom will make good on his word and see little girl soon!
