He has the sweetest friends! Just hours after Andy Cohen announced the birth of his baby boy, Benjamin Allen Cohen, on Monday, February 4, tons of his Hollywood pals took to social media to congratulate the TV star on becoming a dad. But two posts, in particular, stood out from the rest as Andy’s BFFs Sarah Jessica Parker and Kelly Ripa both wrote the most adorable messages to the first-time father on Instagram.
Sarah Jessica, 53, reposted the first photo of Andy and baby Benjamin with the caption, “At long last. And February 4th will never be the same. We are already madly in love. Welcome Benjamin Allen Cohen we’ve got big plans for you. X, SJ.”
Kelly, 48, her husband, Mark Consuelos, and their three kids celebrated little Benjamin’s arrival by enjoying a rainbow cake filled with tons of sprinkles and adorned with an “It’s a Boy” cake topper in their New York City home. “It sure is! Welcome Benjamin! We’ve been waiting for you!!! Mazel Tov @bravoandy,” the talk show host captioned the cute pic on her Instagram.
Andy, 50, announced the birth of little Benjamin via Instagram on Monday, February 4 with the following message: “WOW! This is my son, Benjamin Allen Cohen. He is 9 lbs, 2 ounces!! 20 inches!! Born at 6:35 pm PT. He is named after my grandfather Ben Allen. I’m in love. And speechless. And eternally grateful to an incredible surrogate. And I’m a dad. Wow.”
Just before Benjamin’s arrival, a source close to Andy told People that the TV star was so excited to become a first-time dad. “[Andy has] always had that urge to be a father, and felt like this was the right time. His parents are of a certain age, and he wants them to know his child,” the insider revealed. “He said, ‘I know I’m single, but I haven’t met anyone and I want a family. I’m ready to do this.’”
Congratulations again to Andy — we couldn’t be happier for him and his baby boy!
