"Harry is super protective over Meghan and isn’t happy unless she is happy," a source told Us Weekly in a new interview. "Any time there is or has been negative press about Meghan, he always blows it off and acts as though it’s them two against the world."
After going back and forth and back and forth, Meghan's father, Thomas Markle Sr., decided he will not attend his daughter's royal wedding on Saturday, May 19. The brunette confirmed the sad news in a statement on Thursday, May 17. "Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding. I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health," she said. "I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support. Please know how much Harry and I look forward to sharing our special day with you on Saturday."
And since Harry knows what it will be like to not have a parent present at their special day, he's vowing to be there for Meghan. "[Harry] just wants to protect [Markle] and has been this way [since] everything that happened with his mom and how the media treated her," the insider continued.
But despite this unfortunate situation, Meghan and Harry are so "excited" for their big day. "Harry and Meghan are still very excited for Saturday," another source told Us Weekly. "Meghan’s mother, Doria [Ragland], is with her at Kensington Palace right now and her friends are here in town. Everyone is really excited for a magical and special day." Us included!
