Prince Charles Is Just Wild About Prince Harry’s Wife Meghan Markle (EXCLUSIVE)

The gold bracelets Meghan Markle wore on her royal tour with Prince Harry in Fiji seemed unremarkable. But the Duchess hoped by wearing them, she’d bring more support to the charity that produced them — which was founded by Prince Charles.

The sweet gesture reveals how an affectionate relationship is growing between Meghan and her father-in-law. “Meghan will often turn to Charles for advice and completely trusts him,” a royal insider exclusively told Closer Weekly in the magazine’s latest issue, on newsstands now.

The American-born royal took a shine to Harry’s father from the start and their rapport blossomed as she planned her wedding. A novice at royal protocol, Meghan, 37, asked for Charles’ guidance on points of etiquette and sought his thoughts on the nuptial music.

“She was bowled over by his gentlemanly charm,” a friend said. “She told Prince Harry he was welcoming, warm, hardworking, and stable.” Meghan especially appreciates this new paternal relationship because her dealings with her own father, Thomas Markle, 74, have been so strained. “Charles feels sorry for Meghan and has taken her under his wing,” explained the insider.

Charles and Meghan like to talk about English history, a subject they both find fascinating. Charles, 69, has also shared more personal thoughts about thriving under the microscope of royal life.

“Charles was taught not to talk about his emotions, so opening up doesn’t come naturally to him,” the insider shared. “When Meghan came into the picture that changed. Her warmth helped him open up.” 

Charles finds his new daughter-in-law excellent company and so does his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, 71, who bonded with Meghan about being an outsider in the House of Windsor. “Meghan is so intelligent and so nice,” Charles has gushed to his friends. “We could not like her more.”
