Melissa McCarthy Talks Being a Proud Mom to Her ‘Smart and Funny’ Daughters Vivian and Georgette
Actress and comedian Melissa McCarthy is a proud mom to two daughters and, frankly, she can’t get enough of them! During a new interview, the 48-year-old star gushed that her girls, Vivian Falcone, 11, and Georgette Falcone, 8, are “smart and funny” and have an awesome amount of confidence for being so young.
“They’re really smart and funny, weird,” the Can You Ever Forgive Me star told Us Weekly at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, during which Melissa accepted the Montecito Award, on Sunday, February 3. “I think they’re better [than me]. They’re further along in their young lives than I was. I feel like I had to push almost 30 to get their kind of confidence, so I love seeing that.”

Melissa — who shares her two kids with husband Ben Falcone — explained that while there are, of course, struggles that come with being a parent, having Vivian and Georgette is more than worth it. “[There are] more joys than challenges. The challenges are just, ‘Am I doing enough?’ and being surprised and amazed by my girls,” she said.
Last fall, Melissa similarly opened up about her daughters during an exclusive interview with Closer Weekly. “Navigating each day with my two girls, I hope I’m trailblazing. At least in the sense of chopping things down and making the path for them a little better,” the actress, who was just nominated for her second Oscar, said in October 2018.

During a past interview with Us Weekly, Melissa revealed she’s doing her best to raise her girls to be strong women. “I tell my kids all the time, like, you are the one that determines your self-worth,” she said. “Not what other people think of you. I think we do so much now of, ‘What do you think of me?’ ‘Look at my vacation, do you like it?'”
Melissa seems like the best mama — Vivian and Georgette are so lucky to have her as a role model in their lives!
