You live and you learn, and that’s exactly what Megyn Kelly is reportedly aiming to do in 2019.

An insider tells Us Weekly that Megyn, 48, is ready to learn from her past mistake — a mistake that got her fired from her Today show gig. “Megyn learned a lot from her time at NBC,” the source says. “Anytime you have a passionate, driven soul like her, there may be times within the context they say or do something that offends people without them even realizing it.” The same insider adds, “Megan is the first to stop and turn around and apologize.”

And while Megyn hasn’t made her way back to television quite yet, she apparently still acknowledges that she has a lot to learn. “Megyn is bent on learning from the NBC situation, ready to fight another day in applying her talents, enduring values and experiences to make real progress in this polarized world,” the source says. “Being true to herself is important to her.”

The former Fox News personality was booted by NBC three months ago for statements she made questioning why blackface Halloween costumes are racist. “You truly do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface at Halloween or a black person who puts on white face,” Megyn said during her show on Oct. 23. “That was OK when I was a kid, as long as you were dressing like a character.”

We hope that Megyn isn’t bent on returning to her Today gig, as her spot has already been filled. On Jan. 7, the popular talk show revealed that the 9 a.m. hour will now be hosted by Dylan DreyerAl Roker, Craig Melvin and Sheinelle Jones. Dylan tweeted a photo of the foursome with the caption, “Hope you don’t mind these faces! You’ll be seeing a lot of them at 9 a.m. Please join us.”

Then again, Megyn may have a better chance than Matt Lauer — another disgraced former NBC personality — does of being seen on Today in the future.
