Fans of Today have been anxiously waiting to see the outcome of Megyn Kelly’s abrupt firing, and in early January, they finally got an updateDylan DreyerAl Roker, Craig Melvin, and Sheinelle Jones would be taking over the third hour. But Closer Weekly has learned that these new arrangements may not be permanent.

“The direction of the show is still very up in the air… they don’t really know what the show is or what it’s going to be,” an insider exclusively revealed. “They are moving studios this week (out of the old Megyn studio). Several upper-level staffers have quit over the last few months because of the lack of leadership and direction.”

Megyn was let go from the NBC talk show in October following her racist comments on air about blackface. For the past few months, some of Today‘s most familiar faces have filled in during the spot where Megyn Kelly Today used to be, including the newest third hour co-hosts, Hoda Kotb, and more. On Jan. 7, Dylan tweeted about the latest replacements. “Hope you don’t mind these faces!” Dylan wrote alongside a selfie of the four. “You’ll be seeing a lot of them at 9 am. Please join us.”

Around this time last year, Today was dealing with a similar situation when they announced Hoda as Matt Lauer’s replacement. Hoda took over for the estranged journalist alongside Savannah Guthrie once he was fired for sexual harassment allegations.

Unfortunately, Today will have to deal with another replacement in the coming months as well. As of now, viewers have only heard that execs are allegedly looking to fill Kathie Lee Gifford’s seat from within when she leaves the fourth hour in April. We can’t wait to see how everything unfolds on the talk show…
