Meghan Markle’s Half-Brother, Thomas Markle Jr., Hopes Baby Archie Will Bring Their Family ‘Back Together’

Will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s son, Archie, fix the rift between the young duchess and the members from her father’s side of the family? We hope so — and so does Thomas Markle Jr., Meghan’s half-brother, who wants to reconnect now that she is a mom.

“Anytime there’s an addition to the family, it’s a big thing,” he admitted to Access Hollywood about how the royal baby boy could change things. “Hopefully in this case it will actually bring our family back together a little bit and tighten our ongoing rift that’s always in the papers.”

After Meghan’s dad, Thomas Markle, revealed he staged paparazzi photos prior to his daughter’s royal wedding in May 2018, there has been bad blood between him and the young royal. He previously told The Mail, that his daughter, 37, was so mad at him she completely cut off all communication. However, Thomas Jr. hopes baby Archie will show her the importance of family.

“Meghan only has one family where she came from,” he said. “She’s got two now, but we are her family and I’d like to bring a little awareness to that.” Thomas Jr. also hopes that he, his father and his sister, Samantha Markle, will stop being slammed in the papers. “We need to get away from all that and just be a family again.”

So far, Kensington Palace has confirmed Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, was the only member from her side of the family to meet her son when he was born on May 6. Although Meghan still has yet to announce if she’ll allow her dad or anyone else to meet Archie, Harry’s royal family has been meeting the little guy little by little.

According to Us Weekly, “Harry still remains very close with his family from [Princess] Diana’s side and it was important to him that [Lady Jane Fellowes] meet the baby.”  He also introduced Archie to Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

Hopefully, the rest of Meghan’s brood will meet him one day as well!
