Quite the royal rebel. Meghan Markle has been criticized left and right after holding a pricey and luxurious baby shower in New York City in February, and now it seems like she was told that the royal family isn’t a fan of those flashy baby events.

“Meghan is still struggling with the press in London,” a source recently told Us Weekly. “She was made aware that Kensington Palace and the royal family, that’s not the way they do it with a big, flashy baby shower like the one she had in NYC,” the insider said, adding that the Duchess of Sussex, 37, did not receive “a scolding” for the expensive bash, but was informed that she did not follow tradition.

The former actress’ baby celebration apparently had a bill that totaled close to $200,000, and was attended by such famous faces like Serena Williams, Amal Clooney and Suits costar Abigail Spencer. The group ended up staying at the $75,000 a night suite at Manhattan’s The Mark Hotel. The baby shower caused quite a media stir, but also kicked off some strong opinions, with Queen Elizabeth‘s former press spokesperson, Dickie Arbiter, revealing that it’s not something the Brits are accustom to.

“Baby showers, it’s very much an American thing,” the On Duty With The Queen author recently explained to the outlet. “We don’t do it here in the U.K. It was a bit over the top in terms of expense and the way she got there.” And it also seems like Prince William may have not been too fond of it either.

“I think Prince William will be angered by all of Meghan’s lavish extravagance this week and the fact her baby shower looked so ‘celebrity’ rather than ‘royal,'” Paul Burrell, Princess Diana‘s former butler, recently wrote in a post in The Sun. “He has spent years working with the press to give them what they want but also gets what he wants in return — privacy. Meghan is doing exactly what he doesn’t — courting attention all for her and her baby.” The 60-year-old added, “I think William, as well as Kate Middleton, will be totally bewildered by why Meghan is doing all this, as there’s no excuse for over-indulgence or excess and that’s what it seems to me.”

And yet, even with all the hoopla, Meghan is reportedly planning to have another celebration, this one in London. “Doria is coming to a baby shower here. It will be a small gathering of five or six people,” a source told Daily Mail.

Well one thing is for sure, we’re are definitely looking forward to this second, perhaps less flashier, event!
