Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Thank Royal Fans For Starting ‘Global Fundraiser’ in Honor of Their Baby
So thankful! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have seen the #GlobalSussexBabyShow tweets — and they absolutely love them.
The royal couple took to their new Instagram account to thank fans for starting the hashtag, writing that it was “an incredibly special surprise” and that they are “immensely grateful for the outpouring of love and support in anticipation of the birth of their first child.”
“In lieu of sending gifts, the couple have long planned to encourage members of the public to make donations to select charities for children and parents in need,” the post continues. “If you already made a donation, the couple send you their greatest thanks. If you are thinking about it, they ask that you kindly consider the following organisations they’ve selected, which we will highlight here over the next few days.”
The charities Meg, 37, and Harry, 34, list are: Lunchbox Fund, Little Village HQ, WellChild and baby2baby.
“The Duke and Duchess remain appreciative for your warm wishes and kindness during this especially happy time in their lives!” the post concludes. “Thank you for sharing the love [red heart emoji].”
This comes just days after royal fans started donating to charities that are considered special to the Sussexes to celebrate their first child’s upcoming birth.
“We’re kicking off a GLOBAL fundraiser on Sunday, 31 of March in honor of #BabySussex and the compassion and altruism of the #DukeandDuchessofSussex,” Twitter user @freepeeper wrote. “We’ve selected 3 charities to benefit in this effort. Tweet your donations and include [the] hash #GlobalSussexBabyShower RETWEET!” Shortly after the post went live, the hashtag went viral. Fans began to donate to organizations like Sentebale, which Harry co-founded, and other charities such as Camfed, the Mayhew and One25.
We can’t wait to see the impact fans will have on Meghan and Harry’s favorite charities as we get closer to the new royal baby arriving in late April!
