Duchess Meghan Attends One Young World Summit in London — and Brings Prince Harry as Her Guest!

Aww! Duchess Meghan (née Markle) stepped out for the One Young World Summit in London on Friday, October 25. The beloved royal wasn’t riding solo, however, considering she brought her handsome husband, Prince Harry, along to the event!

The 38-year-old beauty adorably joked about bringing Harry as her date while being greeted by attendees after arriving at Windsor Castle. “Thank you for letting him crash the party,” Meghan sweetly quipped as she and the red-haired royal headed into the gathering. LOL!

During the One Young World summit, the former Suits actress and the royal prince attend a roundtable discussion on gender equality with the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust. The new parents — who welcomed their 5-month-old son, Archie, this past May — sat in on a discussion with over 2,000 young leaders from 190+ countries to talk about initiatives promoting gender equality.

The Duchess of Sussex — who previously attended the summit as a counselor the past three years — opened up about the importance of being apart of the powerful discussion. “In terms of gender equality, which has been something that I have championed for quite a long time, I think that that conversation can’t happen without men being part of it,” she said at the event.

Having attended the 10th Annual One Young World opening ceremony on Tuesday, The Duchess of Sussex was joined today by The Duke of Sussex for a round table discussion on gender equity with OYW and Queen’s Commonwealth Trust young leaders. Over the last few days, these young leaders became @OneYoungWorld ambassadors with the intention to return to their communities and further existing initiatives to help change the world for the better. This year OYW partnered with the @Queens_Commonwealth_Trust, of which The Duke and Duchess are President and Vice-President respectively, to provide scholarships to young leaders driving positive social impact in the Commonwealth. This was the most exciting collaboration between two groups The Duchess is passionate about and has been working with for some time. “This is something that is also very key to the way my husband feels, and he’s been working in the space since 2013, which a lot of people don’t notice as much,” the royal mom added. “But I think that’s what’s really important. You can’t have a conversation about women’s empowerment with just women.”

Meghan and Harry’s outing at the One Young World Summit comes just days after the brunette beauty candidly opened up about how life has been since marrying into the royal family in May 2018. The actress-turned-duchess chatted with ITV News at Ten anchor Tom Bradby for the documentary titled Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, which aired on ABC on October 23.

“Especially as a woman it’s really — it’s a lot,” Meghan revealed in the emotional interview. “So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom and trying to be a newlywed. … And also thank you for asking, because not many people will have asked if I’m OK. But it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes.”

Although she admitted it’s been difficult, we’re so happy to see a beaming smile on her face at the One Young World Summit.
