Who can forget the time when Meghan Markle tried to keep her husband, Prince Harry, dry from the rain in Dubbo, Australia by adorably squeezing underneath an umbrella with him during their royal tour in October 2018?! Apparently, the royal couple loved that picture-perfect newlywed moment just as much as we did because they included that photo on their Christmas thank you cards for fans.

An Instagram fan account called @loopycrown3 just shared a pic of Meghan and Harry’s thank you card and, on the back of the sweet note, a printed message from the couple read, “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex thank you for the very kind message you sent for Christmas. This was most thoughtful of you and greatly appreciated by Their Royal Highnesses who send their best wishes for Christmas, and for the New Year.”

Although the royal family do not normally show PDA, we hope that Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, will continue to do so this year so more adorable photos can be taken of them. According to royal etiquette expert Myka Meier, it’s very possible that Harry and Meghan will hold hands more often in 2019 and even share a few kisses in public because it’s not against royal protocol. “There is no protocol that says they can not show affection on official engagements,” Meier once told People. “And this gesture makes them relatable and lovable to the public.”

“It is rare to see royal couples holding hands on official outings. While we are much less likely to see the [Prince William and Kate Middleton] holding hands in public, we often see Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall holding hands,” Meier continued. “It’s all simply a matter of preference for each couple and is also likely dependent on the nature of the event they are attending. A more serious engagement would warrant a more serious level of professionalism, which each royal is sure to follow.”
