Former Royal Bodyguard Claims There Are ‘Concerns’ About Meghan Markle’s Family Crashing an Event

Stay on the lookout! A former royal bodyguard is claiming that there are worries that some of Meghan Markle‘s family members may crash an event.

For months now we have heard from two very vocal people associated with the Duchess of Sussex, 37. One of them is her estranged father, Thomas Markle, and the other is from her sister, Samantha Markle, with the latter being more about bashing her sibling, Prince Harry and others in the royal family. And now there seems to be a fear that they may make their way into an event that Meghan is at … with cameras. “There is no doubt that protecting Meghan is a demanding role,” former protection officer Ken Wharfe says in the Daily Mail. “I happen to know there are concerns about her dysfunctional family, for example. The worry is that one or more of them might turn up not at the Palace but on one of her working trips, perhaps with a TV crew in hand to film the confrontation.”

If this is something that the Suits alum and company is truly worried about, they may want to look into hiring more protection, especially since one of Meghan’s guards apparently quit recently. “The bodyguard is leaving Scotland Yard entirely, not just her role as PPO [personal protection officer],” a source told Us Weekly, adding that the bodyguard is not abandoning her royal duties because of Meghan. “The decision to leave was personal and no reflection on her time working with Meghan, who she liked working with. She will be missed.”

According to The Sunday Times, this particular guard helped protect Meghan on her first joint royal tour with Harry last October. She also kept her safe throughout the early stages of her first pregnancy. That said, it is no surprise that there may be concerns with someone from the former actress’ family showing up, especially her sister, 54. She was even reportedly once turned down by royal security.

“This was a huge move on the part of Meghan’s sister to try to see her face to face and the fact she was turned away speaks volumes,” a source told Mirror. “This is the closest Meghan has come physically to that side of her family since she married into the royal family but palace staff had clearly been instructed not to allow her access.”
