It was a rainy visit for Kate Middleton and Prince William, who spent the day on the northwest coast of England in Blackpool on Wednesday, March 6. The royal couple was all smiles during their most recent outing where they joined a roundtable briefing to learn about the town’s recent history, the challenges they’ve faced and the investment and efforts that are underway to modernize the area.

Following the discussion, Kate, 37, and William, 36, headed out to meet fans and other members of the public on the promenade’s Comedy Carpet. After chatting with royal admirers, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge paid a visit to the Blackpool Central Library to take part in separate discussions focusing on issues they feel most passionate about.

The brunette beauty has dedicated much of her time to improving early childhood experiences for kids, so Kate joined those involved in the town’s “A Better Start” initiative, which includes health visitors, practitioners from the Family Nurse Partnership and parents. As for William, he met with those affected by issues surrounding mental health — including issues such as homelessness and addiction. The former air ambulance helicopter pilot also spoke with representatives from emergency services and the first responder community to get educated on how they play a part in assisting those with severe mental health needs.

Kate and William have always been known to lend a helping hand, so it’s great to see that was no different during their most recent outing in Blackpool.

Kate and William braved the rainy weather as they pulled up in Blackpool wearing warm clothing with umbrellas in hand. The duchess looked gorgeous while donning a forest green Sportmax coat over a matching green printed shirt dress from Michael Kors. Kate tied the look together with a green Manu Atelier bag. So pretty!

As for William, the duke looked more casual than his wife as he donned blue pants paired with a black sweater and matching blue suit jacket. So handsome!

Kate and William left their three royal kiddos — Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and Prince Louis, 10 months — at home while they paid a visit to the vacation spot that is known for its theaters, bawdy seaside comedy shows and arcades. We bet the three youngsters would’ve loved it!

As they made their way through the promenade, the royal couple was amazed by the pavement that is decorated with catchphrases and depictions of jokes, songs and stories. Before the lovebirds entered the Eiffel Tower-like structure on the promenade, Kate and Wiliam were told about the history as they were shown a large mirror that was unveiled by Princess Diana in 1992. “Fantastic. Amazing,” William smiled and said, People reported.

Although their umbrellas were in full use as they first arrived in Blackpool, Kate and William later went without the coverage as they ventured around the promenade. The mom-of-three even declined using an umbrella during her fan meet-and-greet to ensure that even those all the way in the back of the outdoor crowd would be able to see her. She is so sweet!

After a busy day filled with roundtable discussions and lengthy meet-and-greets, Kate and William will conclude their tour at Revoe Park, a community garden and park that has been renovated thanks to involvement from “A Better Start.” Known for being in a location filled with drugs and crime, the community-led initiative has completely reconstructed the area to be a place where young children experience gardening and the outdoors. The area is also a space for parents, particularly men, to talk about mental health. Amazing!
