Sin City actress Jessica Alba is getting vulnerable! In a new interview with Health magazine, the star opened up about overcoming her insecurities in Hollywood and said that she never felt like she was the most intelligent person in the room.

“When I was younger, I thought I wasn’t smart. I didn’t have a conventional or higher education,” the actress revealed. “Now, after starting a business, I feel OK with identifying myself as smart.” Jessica is a founder of The Honest Company, which sells healthy baby and beauty products, and on the company’s website, she revealed why she started the business in the first place.

“I founded The Honest Company because I wanted safe, effective products that perform,” she said. “After all, you shouldn’t have to choose between what works and what’s good for you.” Jessica also admitted that not feeling like she was smart enough wasn’t her only insecurity growing up. She was also insecure about how people viewed her as an actress because she kept comparing herself to other people.

“I even felt inferior saying I was an actress without being classically trained,” she confessed. “It took me a while to find my confidence. I may not be the best actress ever, but do I have my moments? Definitely!”

This year, Jessica will be starring in the upcoming crime movie, Killers Anonymous with The Dark Knight actor Gary Oldman, and she’ll also be costarring with Gabrielle Union in their new TV show, L.A.’s Finest. Overall, Jessica admits that having street smarts has gotten her a long way. “Don’t underestimate street smarts — all of that hustle and life experiences,” she quipped. “You have to roll with the punches — that’s how you’re going to be successful in life.”

Well, we can’t wait to see Jessica’s next project on the screen!
