Dolly Parton

“Daddy always cut a tree — that was a big deal. We didn’t have electric lights and all the store-bought stuff to trim it, but we’d use tin foil for stars, popcorn, everything we could. I remember Mama telling the story [of Jesus] and her saying, ‘Now we’re not gonna forget what Christmas is really about,'” Dolly recalled.

Julia Roberts

“We always make tons of Christmas cookies — that’s something fun to do with the kids. We made a lot of food and a fire and have our Christmas tree and friends coming over, so it’s a pretty cozy holiday for us,” Julia shared.

Sandra Bullock

“We do a very traditional German Christmas,” Sandra, whose mom was German, said. “We have sauerkraut with spaetzle and on Christmas Eve, the kids get sent away and magically the tree appears decorated with all kinds of treats underneath. But [as the kids get older] I think it’s the beginning of the end of the fantasy of St. Nicholas, which has always been me dressed up in a snowbank.”

Wayne Newton

“For Christmas, we try and arrange a USO show overseas for our troops. There’s no greater feeling than being able to bring a touch of home to the men and women who would make it possible to have the things we have,” Wayne shared.

Chaka Kahn

“When I was a kid we didn’t have a lot of money, and my mother and father made a dollhouse out of cardboard for me and my sister. They painted it and made us a stove and a kitchen, the whole nine. All they had to buy was two dolls. That was my favorite Christmas,” Chaka gushed of her childhood.

Caroline Rhea

“When I was seven I got a teddy bear that I’d always wanted for Christmas. I still have it and gave it to my daughter, Ava, on her seventh birthday, because my mother kept it for me. It’s still wearing the clothes that I put it in,” Caroline revealed.
