Most of us can remember our family doing everything they could to make our holidays a special one, so the same can be said for the royal family as they have reportedly decided to go the extra mile so that Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis can have a Christmas to remember.

A palace source tells Us Weekly that it is important for Kate Middleton and Prince William that “their kids share childhood traditions like their school pals” and that is why “they’re going all-out to make [the holidays] extra special.” Anmer Hall, which is Kate and William’s country home on the Queen’s Sandringham Estate, has already been decorated from top to bottom. The source adds, “Sandringham at Christmas is beautifully decked out,” but it also “may feel like it lacks modern amenities in some areas. It can get cold in the mornings; there are electric heaters dotted around in certain places.” The insider also reveals that the home is furnished in the post-WWII style that Queen Elizabeth is all about, and that “the bedding [in the bedrooms] isn’t all plush duvets — think lightly starched sheets and blankets.”

Hey, we all love the post-WWII style. Sure, we may not find it at our local Target, but we’re still into it. As far as Christmas for the kids, let’s not forget that grandma Carole Middleton has already given George and Charlotte their own Christmas tree. Carole says each child gets their own tree so they can “decorate it themselves.” But that won’t be all for George and his siblings. The source adds that the kids will be having a traditional Christmas, adding, that “they leave a mince pie out for [Santa] on Christmas Eve.” And that “in the morning, the kids wake up super early and excitedly run downstairs to open their gifts with William and Kate.”

Once the gifts have been opened, the family will then head to church, and then have a traditional British lunch, which includes things like brussels sprouts and carrots. You know, things kids like to eat. The day will wrap up with some boards games. So it definitely sounds like the royal family has quite the Christmas planned for the young members of the family. And once the kids are asleep, perhaps the adults’ Christmas will begin and the liquor cabinet will open.
