Season 25 of Dancing With the Stars is right around the corner — but one of your favorite pros might not be in the ballroom this year. In a new interview, Peta Murgatroyd opened up about whether or not she’s returning to the show just months after she welcomed baby No. 1.
“I don’t want to spend 10 hours away a day from my child, so those things factor into it for me,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I’m a mom now and that comes first you know?”
Peta and her fellow DWTS pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy previously welcomed their baby son Shai on Jan. 4, 2017. The couple later tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony with their family and friends on Saturday, July 8 — and the happy family is loving watching Shai grow up.
Peta gushed about the best part of life with her son and hubby. “Seeing the little changes every single day. I mean he’s growing up so fast it’s exactly what people say it is. You know, you blink and then they’re one,” the 31-year-old said. “You know so he’s nearly seven months now, and he’s standing up. He’s nearly walking by himself. It’s amazing. It’s an incredible journey to be on.”
That said, Peta and Maks are still up in the air with their decision to return in the fall. “To be honest, we don’t know yet,” she said of herself and her man on DWTS. “We’re sort of waiting to hear things, waiting to see what our schedules are gonna be like, so, yeah, I mean stayed tuned.” Here’s hoping they come back for what we’re anticipating to be the best season yet!
