From Supermodel to Supermom! Get to Know Claudia Schiffer’s 3 Kids Casper, Clementine and Cosima

Claudia Schiffer made her rise to fame as a German supermodel in the 1990s. Nowadays, she’s relishing in her role as the doting mom of her three kids, Casper, Clementine and Cosima.

The iconic model got her first taste of motherhood when she welcomed her eldest son, Casper, in 2003. Claudia, who tied the knot with her husband, Matthew Vaughn, in 2002, expanded their family with the birth of daughter Clementine in 2004. Six years later in 2010, the couple’s youngest child, Cosima, came along and completed their brood.

The shift of going from a supermodel and Hollywood actress to a dedicated mom wasn’t easy, but Claudia said her “priorities became completely different” the day she gave birth for the very first time.

“Motherhood made me feel, ‘This is what I’m all about,'” the Love Actually actress once told Stylist magazine. “You stop worrying.”

Claudia even credited her husband, Matthew, for being the reason she became a mother. “I come from a big family and I always wanted to have kids of my own,” she explained. “Before I met Matthew, I worked non-stop. But once we got together, suddenly a whole new world seemed to open up. Matthew and I are a team.”

Following the births of her kiddos, Claudia took a step back from her career to focus on motherhood. Although she’s produced movies throughout the years like 2013’s Kick-Ass 2, 2016’s Eddie the Eagle and 2019’s Rocketman, she revealed why she isn’t all that interested in adding more reels to her resume.

“I did some movies but back then, I didn’t have a husband and children,” she told German newspaper Bild in 2007. “I think that actresses who have children have to love their job so much that they prefer — to some extent — to be separated from their families [in order to make a movie].”

“My passion is my family and the world of fashion,” she sweetly added at the time. “[My family] is the reason why I reject 80 percent of the shootings I’m offered.”

Now that her kiddos are older, Claudia has perfected the way she juggles her hectic career with being a mama. While celebrating her milestone 50th birthday in August 2020, the Richie Rich actress said she’s never felt so “happy in [her] life.”

“I’m very lucky to love what I do and to be able to pick and choose my partners,” she marveled in a blog post on her website. “I also believe age should be celebrated and revered. There’s a reason we have cakes and parties on our birthdays, and I feel the same way about getting older each year. I am so happy to be turning 50 and have never felt more confident.”
