Don’t hate Christie Brinkley because she’s beautiful! The youthful 64-year-old supermodel exclusively told Closer Weekly — in the magazine’s latest issue, on newsstands now —  that she feels pressure to defy her age. “I’m painted into a corner where I’m supposed to look good for my age all the time, and it’s inevitable that age is going to catch up with you,” she said at a recent cocktails and conversation event for her new show American Beauty Star in New York City. “I don’t want to have to be anything other than what I am.”

She’d rather focus on staying active. “I want to feel healthy, strong and fit,” she said. “So if somebody says, ‘Let’s go skiing!’ I can do it.” Even when she posts photos of herself doing athletic activities, people comment on her looks. “I’ll put up a picture with no makeup, and the thread will be like, ‘Oh, I’m so happy you’re starting to age. You’re just like us!’” she said. “And I’m like, ‘What? I’m talking about going on a hike!’”

Christie is one model who embraces her aging looks and isn’t afraid of getting wrinkles around her face from smiling. She previously told W magazine that the best piece of beauty advice she ever received was from her mom who told her to keep smiling.

“My mom always told me to smile because it brightens up your whole face,” she said, adding that sentiment is also exactly what she tells her daughter Sailor Brinkley Cook. “She always said to just keep smiling, even if you’re feeling bad, and you’ll start feeling good,” Sailor, 20, once revealed about her famous mom.

Even when Christie turned 64 years old last year, she didn’t let her age bring down her mood. “I’m not going to let that number make me feel old,” Christie previously told Closer Weekly. “I’m going to kick my birthday off with a party.” And that’s exactly what she did!
