Brooke Shields Pokes Fun at Famous ‘Art Basel Banana’ With Hilarious and ‘Expensive’ Selfie
In case you didn’t hear, someone recently paid $120K for a banana duct-taped to a wall at an art gallery — and Brooke Shields couldn’t help but to poke fun at it.
The 54-year-old took to Instagram on Sunday, December 8, and shared a photo with a banana … you guessed it, taped to her face. “An expensive selfie,” the actress wrote. “Great time in #miamiartweek with @nyacademyofart.” Take a look at the hilarious post below!
Fans were of course all about it, as they rushed to the comments section to chime in. “This is everything,” one person said. “Totally putting in my bid if you come with it,” another added. We can’t help to think how much the star keeps her children laughing while at home. Brooke shares daughters Rowan, 16, and Grier, 13, with her longtime husband, Chris Henchy.
The Blue Lagoon star has never shied away from letting people know just how much she not only loves her family life, but being a mother too. “Being with my children is one of the purest joys that I have,” she once said while celebrating her youngest child’s birthday at Sugar Factory in NYC. “It’s so simple, but it’s things like that I hope they will always remember.”
Brooke is of course all about her children, but she once revealed just how emotional it was when she realized that she would not be having any more kids. “The first mourning that I went through was realizing I wasn’t going to have any more children,” she admitted during an interview with The Sunday Telegraph. “That threw me.” However, Brooke had her man by her side through it all and that hasn’t changed.
“My husband’s an incredibly balancing source,” Brooke told the outlet. “He’s very comfortable in his own self and he’s so funny. My thing is that I want to be ready for the worst, always. He makes me crazy, but he says, ‘We’ll figure it out.’ I’m so used to having to have my own back. It’s a relief to have someone who, if I need it, takes care of me.”
