“Yes it’s official,” the 48-year-old, who played Brenda Walsh, captioned a classic promotional photo of her Beverly Hills cast mates. “The real question is … will we still be rocking those outfits.” People of were ecstatic, as they took to the comments section to show their excitement.
“So happy to see you will be involved!” a fan said. Another added, “So excited to see my favorite cast from my favorite zip code getting back together. Looking forward to watching the show again. I still watch the re-runs of 90210.” One person said, “I wasn’t planning to watch but now that [Shannen] will be part of the Shaw, I will watch!”
The actress will be joining other original members of the program including Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Jason Priestly, Brian Austin Green, Gabrielle Carteris and Tori Spelling. The show is expected to run for six episodes on Fox this summer.
Tori, 45, explained what this reboot will be all about. “It is the OG crew back together, and we’re playing heightened versions of ourselves,” the Stori Telling author told Access Live back in February. “The fans will be pleasantly surprised, though, because we will intercut that with scenes from the show. So it’ll be a whole ensemble cast.” At the time, the Charmed alum wasn’t confirmed to return.
“We would love to have her on,” Tori said. “There is no status right now.” Well it looks like everyone got their wish!
This reunion will be bittersweet for the cast due to the fact that Luke Perry, who passed away after suffering a stroke on March 4, will be missing. “I am in shock. Heartbroken. Devastated by the loss of my friend,” Shannen said upon hearing the tragic news. “I have so many memories with Luke that make me smile and that are forever imprinted on my heart and mind.”
“I will miss him every day,” she added. “Every minute. Every second.”
There is no exact confirmed date yet for Beverly Hills, 90210‘s return.
