We’re so sorry to hear this. Luke Perry remains hospitalized in Los Angeles today after reportedly suffering “a massive stroke” on Wednesday, February 27, according to TMZ. A spokesperson for the L.A. Fire Department confirmed to Closer Weekly that firefighters and an ambulance responded to an unspecified medical aid request at the 52-year-old Beverly Hills, 90210 star’s Sherman Oaks, California home at around 9:30 a.m. yesterday and transported him via ambulance to a nearby hospital. His rep later told Us Weekly, “Mr. Perry is currently under observation at the hospital.”

The unfortunate news of Luke’s health crisis comes just hours after FOX announced that Beverly Hills, 90210 is returning to the small screen for a limited series with the beloved teen drama’s original cast including Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling.

According to Variety, the rebooted series will “come with a twist.” The outlet explained, “The actors will not be playing their characters from the show, but rather heightened versions of themselves. Having gone their separate ways since the original series ended 19 years ago, Jason, Jennie, Ian, Gabrielle, Brian and Tori reunite when one of them suggests it’s time to get a Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot up and running. But getting it going may make for more drama than the reboot itself.” It’s been reported that Luke did not plan to join the new show’s cast.

On the original series, Luke portrayed Dylan McKay from 1990 until 1995 and then again from 1998 to 2000. Since then, he’s starred on TV shows including Oz, Jeremiah, Windfall, John From Cincinnati, Body of Proof and Riverdale. He’s also set to appear in Quentin Tarantino‘s upcoming film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood which costars Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt, in addition to lots of other notable actors.

Luke is additionally a father to two adult kids, Jack Perry, 21, and Sophie Perry, 18, with his ex-wife Rachel Minnie Sharp, whom he was previously married to from 1993 until 2003.
