Jennifer Grey is one proud daughter!
The Dirty Dancing star, 55, was overcome with emotion during last night's 33rd Annual Fred & Adele Astaire Awards in NYC, where she presented her father, actor Joel Grey, with the Douglas Watt Lifetime Achievement Award.

"I didn't expect to feel like that," Jennifer told the audience of her teary reaction to being onstage with her dad. "I feel like Liza [Minnelli], all gaspy and stuff!
"Just give me a moment, sorry about that," she added, before sharing fond memories of growing up with the now 83-year-old Broadway star.

"I'm so inspired by my dad. By the sheer breadth of his work, his love of life. As someone who has clung to his every move my entire life... his incredible career... only pales in comparison to the accomplishment of how he lives his life, his gigantic heart. This world is just markedly better for him being here," she continued.

After the award presentation, Joel — who has won an Academy Award, Tony Award, and Golden Globe Award throughout his 64 years in Hollywood — said the honor was most special because his daughter was able to experience it with him.
"It's just fun having my daughter here. That's the best part, because who knew with both of our careers and she being so busy and a mom and all that, the fact that she's here at this moment without [us having tried to plan it]... neither one of us knew!" he told People.
