The 2013’s Oscar-winning movie Dallas Buyer’s Club was Jennifer Garner‘s last notable film appearance. The star has been staying out of the spotlight for quite some time. Although she was last seen on the small screen in her hit TV series Alias, the show sadly ended in 2006. Now she’s joining the televisual renaissance by signing up to star in Lena Dunham and fellow Girls producer Jenni Konner’s new show, Camping.

An adaptation of the British series of the same name, the show follows a group of friends embarking on a camping trip for a 45th birthday. Jennifer’s character has been described as “a controlling LA mom who is far less cheerful than her Lululemons imply,” while Jenni and Lena have said she is “messy, tough, and provocative.”

Talking to Variety about casting the show, Jenni and Lena said: “We love Jennifer’s restraint, and comedic timing, and we can’t wait for the warmth and intelligence she’ll bring to our central character, Kathryn. It’s truly a dream to have her first on our call sheet. Now we just have to write her some stunts.” Jennifer has done comedy before, of course, when she starred in 13 Going on 30. More recently she’s been in the headlines for her on-again off-again relationship with Ben Affleck, as the couple goes through a divorce.
