Though she just turned 40 in August, actress Amy Adams reveals she had somewhat of a meltdown after she rang in her milestone birthday.
"I was like, 'I’m 40 and I still care what people think of me; I still don’t do laundry so I’m always out of things; I’m just not a grown-up at all,' and I had this expectation that I would be by this age," the five-time Oscar-nominee said in the newest issue of 'Vogue' magazine.
"It wasn't, 'Oh, I’m getting old and I’m going to lose something vibrant about myself.' It was more that I was just so disappointed with myself. It’s just awful. Any chance for self-loathing!" she added.

The 'American Hustle' star — who welcomed daughter Aviana Olea with her fiancé Darren Le Gallo in May 2010 — further expressed the big birthday also forced her to examine her worries surrounding her career and family.

"It feels like I worry about everything — mothering, relationships... I think it’s because I want to continue to grow; I don’t like being stagnant," she told the magazine.
Amy's latest film, 'Big Eyes' — a Tim Burton movie in which she co-stars with Christoph Waltz, Krysten Ritter and Jason Schwartzman — is set to hit theaters on Christmas Day.
