Check Out the Trailer for ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ and Go Behind-the-Scenes with Gal Gadot and Chris Pine

When people think of superhero movies, the odds are pretty strong that it’s a Marvel film that will come to mind — whether it’s Spider-Man, The Avengers, Iron Man or countless others. Their main competition, Warner Bros, and the adventures based on the heroes of DC Comics, were usually not nearly as well-received. But things are changing thanks to successes like Aquaman, Shazam!, Joker and, of course, Wonder Woman, starring Gal Gadot and Chris Pine, and directed by Patty Jenkins. That film was a major success, and the wondrous trio are doing it again with Wonder woman 1984, the trailer for which has been released.

Wonder Woman 1984 is scheduled for release on June 5, 2020, and it will see Gal reprising the dual role of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, with Chris back as Steve Trevor (though the “how” escapes us — he was blown up pretty good in the last film). Returning to the director’s chair is Patty, who did such an amazing job the first time out, and who has recruited some real trouble for WW to go up against. Actress Kristen Wiig is Barbara Ann Minerva, a British anthropologist who, having discovered the lost city of Urzkartaga, finds herself possessed by their Cheetah god, who absolutely has the power to give Wonder Woman a run for money.

Outside of that, nobody’s talking. Well, to clarify, nobody’s talking about plot. However, last year Gal, Chris, and Patty made an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con where they talked about the new adventure in general terms without getting too specific. What follows, then, is a breakdown of what they had to say. For all they didn’t reveal, it’s pretty clear that all three are pretty pumped to be back and are viewing this Wonder Woman adventure as very much its own thing, and not a traditional sequel. Given that the first film took place during World War I and this one is set in 1984, sounds like they should be able to pull it off — scroll down to see what they revealed!
