The funnyman, who suffered a traumatic brain injury in an auto accident in June 2014, recently made a stunning announcement — he’s returning to NBC (his 30 Rock home) to host Saturday Night Live on Oct. 17.

It’s a miracle that was not lost on those who spotted the 46-year-old comedian shopping with his wife, Megan Wollover, in NYC on Aug. 14. “He was in a pretty cheery mood,” one witness tells Closer. “If we had no knowledge of his injuries, it would’ve been very hard to tell.”
In fact, Tracy is almost fully recovered from the horrific crash, in which a Walmart truck collided with his limousine van, killing his pal and fellow comic James McNair, and leaving Tracy with a broken nose, leg, rib and a severe brain injury that put him in a coma. “When I first came out of the coma, I was a mess,” Tracy has said.
