With heart surgery behind her and a wedding ahead, former The View co-host Star Jones, 55, opens up to Closer Weekly about her life now with her fiancé, Ricardo Lugo. Star, who said yes to Ricardo’s proposal in October, says that she knew Ricardo was "the one" from the "moment I met him. He is just that human being."
Star tells Closer there are many things to love about him, adding that their relationship is just "easy." She gushes, "I'm in a prayer on the beach." Star adds, "I've said I want somebody in my life who is kind and I can depend on, that I can exhale and I exhale with him all the time. I don't have to worry about a thing; he’s got my back."
She reveals to Closer that she has started planning her wedding, but admits since her open heart surgery seven years ago she has a new perspective on life. "The things that are really important to you, I've learned over the years, the more precious it is the more private you should keep it so I've enjoyed making my plans, I’ve enjoyed spending the time with my fiancé and our son, and I’m going to have a good time but I'm going to do it privately."
The American Heart Association National Volunteer adds, "I look at every day as a blessing and almost nothing gets to me," she said. "After you've had your heart out for 22 minutes not too many things can piss you off, if you know what I mean!"
