Even as kids, Princess Charlotte and her older brother, Prince George, still have to learn about royal protocol just like the rest of their family. Royal etiquette expert Myka Meier recently told Cosmopolitan that the two young royals started learning about proper etiquette at a very young age!

“Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s etiquette education likely started as soon as they could attend events with their family,” she said. “It would probably begin with simple training like how to shake hands and curtsy around the age of two.”

Meier added that if George and Charlotte wanted to learn “initial training,” then they would most likely be given the lesson by their mom, Kate Middleton. However, since Kate’s two oldest kids are still quite young, their royal training is apparently not as strict as their aunt Meghan Markle‘s training.

“Growing up in the Palace would mean that training is much less a course or official training, and more day-to-day observation and gentle lessons right before an event or when meeting an important guest to help prepare them,” Meier explained.

Meghan’s Duchess lessons have been so intense that Life & Style previously reported that she had been “getting special fast-track training on royal etiquette,” before she even moved to Kensington Palace. The insider added that Meghan’s lessons began at 8:30 a.m., and finished at 7 p.m. She even learned “how to handle difficult family members with dignity and class, and crisis management, as well.”

Meghan put her teachings to good use once she had to deal with her estranged half-sister, Samantha Markle, bad-mouthing her in the press. On Friday, Oct. 5, Samantha took to Twitter to call Meghan’s mom an absent parent in the newlywed’s life.

“The world does not know that our dad raised her most of the time without the input of her mother especially from age 12 through high school and he gave her everything she had and is,” Samantha wrote. “She was never raised as an only child. Truth kids! He is amazing and successful and mags lie.” Lately Meghan has been ignoring Samantha’s online rants, so it’s good to see her putting her lessons to good use!
