The Duke of Sussex, 34, met up with the marathon’s volunteers during his visit on Sunday, April 28. The soon-to-be father also watched some of the runners and presented medals to the winners, including those who proved to be victorious in the World Para Athletics World Championship Marathon.
This visit comes as the world waits for the couple’s first child to arrive — a birth the pair decided they want to keep away from the masses. “Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private. The duke and duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family,” a statement released by Buckingham Palace read.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby,” the message concluded.
