Even though the King of Pop died nearly ten years ago, some fans still have one big question about Michael Jackson and his family: Is Paris Jackson really the star’s biological daughter?

The answer is simply, yes. Contrary to many people’s beliefs, the 20-year-old is the daughter of Michael and his first wife, Debbie Rowe. The pair — who was previously married from 1996 until 1999 — welcomed Paris in April 1998 and also had a son named Prince, 22, in February 1997. The “Man In the Mirror” singer is also a dad to a 17-year-old son Blanket.

During a 2017 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Paris opened up about her Hollywood childhood and candidly revealed that she was her dad Michael’s favorite child. “I wasn’t around a lot of other girls. When I was a kid, I was with my dad and my two brothers,” she shared. “Growing up, I was treated as the favorite because I was the only girl. I was the princess; I was perfect in my dad’s eyes.”

In the past, Paris has also confessed she’s “absolutely” convinced Michael — who died at age 50 back in June 2009 — was murdered. “[My dad] would drop hints about people being out to get him. And at some point, he was like, ‘They’re gonna kill me one day,'” she once told Rolling Stone magazine. “It sounds like a total conspiracy theory and it sounds like bulls–t, but all real fans and everybody in the family knows it. It was a setup. It was bulls–t.”

As the 10th anniversary of Michael’s death approaches, Paris has admitted she missed her famous dad now more than ever. “They always say, ‘Time heals.’ But it really doesn’t. You just get used to it. I live life with the mentality of, ‘OK, I lost the only thing that has ever been important to me.’ So going forward, anything bad that happens can’t be nearly as bad as what happened before. So I can handle it,” she said.
