They may be all about their HGTV show Mountain Mamas, but Jackie Wickens and Trecie Wheat Hughes make sure to always make their families the priority.

The TV stars recently explained how they manage to balance their hectic work schedules with their full-time jobs as moms. “Well, I don’t know if there is a balance truly. We do the best we can,” Jackie told Closer Weekly in an exclusive interview. “The reason we work and do all of this is for our families so they are supported. Also I think it’s cool — I got a daughter who is 4 and a son who is 7. Trecie’s son is 7, and I think it’s cool to get out there and show them that they can really do anything they set their mind to.”

“Whether it’s something outside of their gender role or something outside of the 9-5 job that other people expect from them,” Jackie continued. “So even though we work a lot, I always see it that we’re also being role models to our kids and showing them that anything is possible.”

The reality show is set in Montana, and stars Jackie and Trecie. The hard working duo also touched on how how they found themselves working with each other. “Both construction and real estate are both pretty lone world type jobs and when Jackie came into the picture it just made it more fun and also more organized,” Trecie explained. “We’re both working moms … so we’re both in that stage of life where we help each other all the time. To have a friend like that, that is talented but also understands your world, it just works better.”

“We joke that we’re actually life partners now because it’s true. I don’t have another person or friend in my life that truly understands what we do for work and then how we balance that with family life, it’s crazy,” Jackie added, “We both have husbands so not only in our work life do I feel like I have support and somebody who has my back, I feel like that in my personal life as well. It’s pretty special.”

“It’s definitely something that I feel lucky to have experienced in my life. I feel like a lot of people don’t get that,” Trecie added. So great!
