Mom to the rescue! It seems like all of Meghan Markle‘s family drama with her dad, Thomas Markle, is slowing down, but she was still very upset over the summer after he continued to bash her and her husband, Prince Harry, in a series of tell-all interviews. But the Duchess of Sussex’s mom, Doria Ragland, had her back during the whole ordeal, and now it’s been reported that Doria made several trips to the UK to be there for Meghan while it was all going down.

“The visit was totally under the radar… Doria supported Meghan throughout a lot of the ordeal with Thomas,” an insider revealed to the Mail on Sunday. During one of Doria’s visits back in July, Doria traveled from her home in LA to England and she stayed at the couple’s cottage in Oxfordshire.

In a series of interviews, Thomas claimed that he had been “cut off” from his daughter by the royal family, claimed that he had hung up on her husband Harry after a heated telephone conversation, and he also claimed that the royal family was like a “cult.”

Meghan, Harry, and the royal family maintained their silence as Thomas slammed them in the press, and his last interview was published back in August. Despite the fact that she has a strained relationship with her dad, sources revealed to The Sun that she hopes to eventually mend her relationship with her father at some point in the future.

“Meghan loves Thomas and does want to maintain a relationship with him in the long run. But at the moment she feels he needs a bit of space. She also wants to take a bit of time out,” the insider revealed. “She is adjusting to married life and her new role in the spotlight. Meghan is hopeful that things will get better but it will take time. There is no quick fix.”
