Looks like it’s over for Matt Lauer! The disgraced TV anchor is apparently not planning on returning to TV after NBC fired him from the Today show in November 2017 following sexual misconduct allegations. But not only is the 61-year-old star not fighting for his old job back, he reportedly doesn’t have anyone to fight for him either.

“Matt’s friends are saying he has no plans to make a TV comeback, but the real truth is that no one really wants him back, not yet anyway,” an insider recently told In Touch Weekly. “Matt shouldn’t be picky, but the few offers he got were embarrassing … He’s gotten some random web show offers, but that’s not something he’s going to do. If he accepted a web series, he’d get even more negative press.”

As an experienced journalist, Matt’s offers have apparently made him at a loss for words. “Of course, Matt wants to be back on the air,” the insider said, but he reportedly doesn’t want just any old job. “The last thing he wants is some headline declaring how the mighty have fallen,” the source admitted.

Once news broke that Matt would be leaving the Today show, his cohost at the time, Savannah Guthrie, spoke about Matt’s troubling allegations on-air. “This is a sad morning for us at Today show and at NBC News,” she confessed at the time. “Just moments ago, NBC chairman Andy Lack sent the following note to our organization: ‘On Monday night, we received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer. It represented, after serious review, a clear violation of our company’s standards. As a result, we’ve decided to terminate his employment. While it is the first complaint about his behavior in the over twenty years he’s been at NBC News, we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident.’”
