Since tickets for Hamilton are probably still sold-out until 2020, the best we can do is tell you about other people going to see the show instead of you — people like Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. And actually, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex got to see it with the show’s creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Lin-Manuel was recently on The Graham Norton Show to promote his film Mary Poppins Returns alongside co-star Emily Blunt. But of course, the talk went from the film to what it was like for Lin-Manuel to see his own musical next to royalty for a gala performance back in August. And let’s just say that the 38-year-old star may have some competition from Meghan. “I was scared when I saw it with the Duke and Duchess because Meghan knew the lyrics slightly better than I did,” he said. “I was trying to mouth along, and I couldn’t get it all. But I’ve been studying, and I think I can do it now.”

Lin-Manuel added that Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, are “fans of the show,” joking that Harry knew “secret ways” into West End’s Victoria Palace Theatre, as it was named for his relative. Classic Harry.

Lin-Manuel may be a little rusty when it comes to performing as Alexander Hamilton, as he stopped playing the role in July of 2016. The actor actually admitted to Graham that he needs to brush up on his skills, especially since he is expected to return to the role that put him on the map in January for 24 shows at the University of Puerto Rico.

As for Meghan, if she doesn’t find herself singing on-stage with Lin-Manuel someday, she can always fall back on her calligraphy skills, as she did show them off recently while doing Christmas crafts with nursing home residents. But of course, this is only if all that royal career stuff doesn’t work out for her.
