It seems Meghan Markle just took a page out of Kate Middleton‘s book! The Duchess of Sussex attended Queen Elizabeths’s annual Christmas lunch on Wednesday, Dec. 19 wearing a recycled outfit. The best part? The frock was from her pre-royal days!
The 37-year-old was photographed arriving at the event wearing a black, blue, green, and yellow ruffled Erdem dress with a high neckline. Meg — who is pregnant with baby No. 1 — previously wore the stylish number for a January 2016 segment on Today with co-host Savannah Guthrie. During that sit-down, Prince Harry‘s wife discussed winter fashion trends in the sheer number. A little bit different than this time around…
This isn’t the first time Meghan has recycled an outfit, and to be honest, we can’t blame her for dipping back into her closet considering the plethora of public appearances she makes nowadays. We especially love how she sported her baby bump in an outfit she previously wore pre-pregnancy.
Meghan attended the Queen’s Christmas lunch last year as Harry’s fiancée and this year as his wife. Also in attendance for the 2018 festivity was Kate Middleton, Prince William, Prince George, Prince Philip, Princess Anne, Princess Beatrice, Prince Charles, and more.
The former Suits actress — who admitted she feels “very pregnant” during a recent outing — will spend Christmas this year at Sandringham with the royal family. It will be a nice way to wind down as the new year approaches since Meg has been a victim of public negativity and scrutiny over the past year.
“She reads everything that is written about her. She’s very thin-skinned and wishes people would give her a break,” a source told Heat. “This should be the happiest time of her life — her first Christmas married to Harry and carrying their first child — but this whole royal journey has turned into a nightmare.” Here’s hoping she can put everything aside and enjoy Christmas — maybe even in a recycled outfit!
