They’re so humble! Keith Urban took home the Entertainer of the Year award at the 2018 CMAs on Wednesday, Nov. 14, and after accepting the coveted honor, the country music icon and his actress wife, Nicole Kidman, couldn’t help but shed a few (ok, maybe more than a few) tears after Lionel Richie announced him as the winner.

Prior to Keith’s acceptance speech, Nicole, in tears, sweetly hugged her husband and rubbed his back and said “I love you so much” before he made his way to the stage. “Baby girl, I love you so much. I’m beyond shocked. Everyone at home, Faith and Munchkin, I love you. Thank you for supporting Daddy and loving me through all of what I do, same with you, baby girl, for making it worthwhile,” Keith, 51, tearfully said of the duo’s 10-year-old and seven-year-old daughter while he accepted his surprise award.

“I have so many people to thank, I wish I had more time to do it right now,” the dad-of-two continued. “The fans who are phenomenal, country radio, everybody who voted for this, thank you so much… above all, just God, I thank you for the blessings of this.”

The “Blue Ain’t Your Color” singer concluded by paying tribute to his late father, who died in 2015. “I wish my dad was alive to see this, but he’s watching over me tonight. And I just feel very, very blessed and very grateful that I get to do what I do.  Thank you, all of you, for coming out and god bless country music. God bless you all,” Keith shared.

Keith and Nicole, 51, are known for being super supportive of one another’s careers. On top of that, the duo successfully balances their busy workload while also being parents to their two little girls. So, how does this power couple manage to do it all? “The thing you really learn when you have children and a career — and particularly when you’re an older mother — is the preciousness of time, and therefore trying to balance everything and be willing to say no to things,” Nicole once shared.

It’s been the duo’s best year yet, and we’re hoping they continue their strong balance for a successful 2019 as well. Congrats again, Keith!
