It seems Jenna Bush Hager believes in ghosts! When she recently spoke with Hoda Kotb on the Today show, Jenna revealed that she has had a few scary experiences in the White House — and strongly believes that it’s haunted!

“The white house has to be haunted,” the 36-year-old journalist told Hoda. Jenna previously resided at the presidential mansion with her sister, Barbara Bush, when her father, George W. Bush, was in office. One night when Jenna and her sister were sleeping at the mansion, Jenna said that she heard something that neither she nor Barbara could explain.

“My phone rang, it woke us up in the middle of the night. We had a fireplace in our room, and all of a sudden we started hearing, like, 1920s piano music, as clear as day, coming out of the fireplace,” she shockingly revealed. “I jumped in Barbara’s bed, we were both awake. The next week, we heard the same thing but opera.”

Jenna and Barbara were so scared that they tried to find a reasonable explanation for their creepy encounter. But once Jenna told one of her friends (who still works at the White House) that she thinks it’s haunted, her suspicions were confirmed.

“I said, ‘Buddy, you wouldn’t believe what we heard last night.’ And he goes, ‘Oh, Jenna, you wouldn’t believe what I’ve heard. It’s haunted,'” she explained. “It’s scary, but [the ghosts] came with all good intentions. They were friendly ghosts.”

To this day, Jenna is still unsure if people can actually see a ghost, but she knows that people could possibly feel a “presence” around them that they can’t explain. For Hoda, she shared that she has felt multiple “presences” a couple of times and believes that ghosts can actually be real. So scary!
