What a good guy! It’s pretty clear that Jake Gyllenhaal is very serious when it comes to his acting craft, but nothing was going to prevent him from helping out a woman who was in dire need of some water.

The 38-year-old appeared on The Tonight Show on Tuesday, February 19, and spoke to Jimmy Fallon about Sea Wall/A Life — a play he’s currently starring in at The Public Theater in New York. And even though he was in the middle of a monologue, the Oscar-nominated actor revealed how he put that on pause to help a woman in need of assistance.

“The other day a woman was coughing, like really, really loudly,” he recalled. “And I felt so bad for her.” When the Donnie Darko star asked the stranger if she was okay, she said she was, but Jake still jumped into action. “I ran off stage and I got her water and I gave it to her,” he said.

“That’s the price of admission right there,” the host, 44, joked. Hear the funny story below!

Jake is currently on quite the roll in his career, as not only did he recently snag the role of Mysterio in the highly-anticipated film Spider-Man: Far From Home, he is also starring in the very strange Velvet Buzzsaw on Netflix. When Jake isn’t hard at work, he’s apparently doing all he can to pull of the best pranks. This past holiday, he and fellow actor Hugh Jackman decided to pull off quite the prank on their pal Ryan Reynolds. The pair told the Deadpool star, 42 that he was invited to an ugly Christmas sweater party, only to reveal that it wasn’t that type of party at all — by then it was too late for the Canadian actor to change.

“These f–ing a–holes,” Ryan captioned the Instagram photo of him looking bummed out while his two acting pals smile with glee.

We hope that Jake at least got Ryan some water after this.
