These talk show hosts are sticking together! Today co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Tuesday, Sept. 18, and during their sit-down, spoke out about Julie Chen‘s highly publicized decision to leave The Talk.

“I think that was probably a tough decision for her,” Hoda, 54, told host Andy Cohen. “That show…You have to give so much of your personal life in it.” Further defending her decision, she added, “I sort of get it. It would be hard to be on that show if you couldn’t share. So I sort of understood.”

Savannah added, “Yeah, we just have to respect her. Whatever she decides we have to respect her.”

Julie announced on Sept. 18 that she’s leaving the popular talk show after all these years in an emotional farewell video following the news her former CBS CEO husband, Leslie Moonves, stepped down from his role after being accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women.

“I have been at The Talk since the day it started nine years ago, and the cast, crew, and staff have become family to me over the years. But right now, I need to spend more time at home with my husband and our young son. So I’ve decided to leave The Talk,” Julie began.

“I want to thank everyone at the show for our wonderful years together. I will always, always cherish the memories we shared. Most importantly, I want to thank you, the viewers, for allowing me into your home every day. It was a privilege that I will forever be grateful for. To everyone behind the scenes… I send you my love. I will miss you all very, very much,” she added before she started crying. Perhaps there’s a spot for her on NBC’s Today alongside Hoda and Savannah? Here’s hoping!
