Goldie Hawn Heartbreakingly Reveals Son Oliver Hudson Almost Died at 1-Day-Old

Nothing means more to Goldie Hawn than her family!

In a candid new interview, the 71-year-old actress heartbreakingly revealed her eldest child, son Oliver Hudson, almost died at just one-day-old from birth complications.

While recently speaking with People, Goldie explained she was suffering from toxemia — a potentially dangerous pregnancy condition characterized by high blood pressure — when she was taken to the NICU to see her newborn baby boy.

“Oh my God, was he beautiful. Eleven pounds of a hunk of love. I stood up and I just connected to the universe. I put my hand on him, and I asked God, I said, ‘Come through me, use me to heal my son,'” she recalled.

Thankfully, Oliver recovered from his complications and regained his health. “I don’t think there’s any question that prayer can work. I’m a very spiritual person,” Goldie said.

“I’m not a religious person, although I was raised Jewish and I like my tribe, but that was a beautiful thing. It was phenomenal. I just emptied myself. I don’t know how to explain it,” she continued.

Today, Oliver is 40-years-old and a successful actor like his mom and stepfather, Kurt Russell. He is also married to actress Erinn Bartlett and the couple have three children: sons Wilder, 9, and Bodhi, 7, and daughter Rio, 3.

“He’s the greatest, most handsome, amazing father, actor, comedian, human, son,” Goldie said. “I mean, he’s such a gift. They’re all gifts, all my children.”

Oliver Hudson

Goldie previously welcomed her eldest child with her first husband, Bill Hudson, on Sept. 7, 1976. Bill and Goldie were husband and wife from 1976 until 1982. Oliver is currently 41 years old. His stepdad is Kurt.

He's known as an actor and producer and has credits in Rules of Engagement, Nashville, Scream Queens, Dawnson's Creek, and Grown Ups 2.

Kate Hudson

Kate is Goldie's second child. She previously welcomed the 38-year-old with her first husband, Bill Hudson, on April 19, 1979. However, Kate has a very strong relationship with her stepdad, Kurt.

Similar to her mom, Kate is an actress, and is most known for her roles in Almost Famous, Raising Helen, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Bride Wars, and more!

Boston Russell

Boston is the son of Kurt and his ex-wife, Season Hubley, and the stepson of Goldie. The two —
who were married from 1979 until 1983 — welcomed him on Feb. 16, 1980. He is 37 years old today.

Unlike his siblings, dad, and stepmom, Boston decides to remain out of the public spotlight in Hollywood. His life is very private.

Wyatt Russell

Wyatt is the only child Goldie and Kurt welcomed together. On July 10, 1986, Goldie gave birth to the couple's now-31-year-old son.

Wyatt was once a professional hockey player, but he's also landed acting roles in 22 Jump Street, Everybody Wants Some!!, This Is 40, We Are What We Are, and more.

He married wife Sanne Hamers in 2014 after four months of dating. They do not have any children.
