George And Amal Clooney Look Glamorous For Date Night At A United Nations Event In NYC — See The Pics!
Actor George Clooney and his wife, Amal Clooney, will seriously never not blow us away. The power couple stepped out looking glamorous as ever for their date night at the 23rd Annual United Nations Correspondents Associations (UNCA) Awards in NYC. The duo was even accompanied by George’s parents, Nick Clooney and Nina Bruce Warren. Cute!
The awards ceremony honors the best print, broadcast, and electronic media coverage for the UN. Amal, 40, was given an incredible accolade at the event by receiving the 2018 Global Citizen of the Year Award. The human rights lawyer paid tribute to Nadia Murad, the co-winner of this year’s Nobel Prize, during her speech. She also acknowledged her father-in-law, who is also a journalist, by thanking him for raising her husband so well.
Amal touched on the fact that she and George, 57, plan on “monitoring trials of journalists,” and supporting them financially as well. “I am here tonight to honor you, the journalists being recognized for your groundbreaking reporting this year,” Amal said in a clip recorded by a guest.
The brunette beauty’s speech was apparently so esteemed, it was “Possibly the only speech when the whole room was silent,” @ThinInk wrote on Twitter.
This isn’t the first time that Amal has been given an award, and we’d be damned if it were her last. She was most recently recognized at Variety’s annual Power of Women luncheon on Oct. 12, where George accepted the honor on her behalf as she was giving a keynote speech at the 2018 Pennsylvania Conference for Women.
While Amal being showered with awards is amazing, nothing is more adorable than seeing her hubby stand by her side and endlessly support her. Take a look at the pics from George and Amal’s adorable UN date night below!
