How cool is this? Michael Ketterer is currently a finalist on America’s Got Talent — and since his audition, the Tennessee native has captivated the world with his amazing voice and exceptional character. In fact, he was so impressive that judge Simon Cowell gave him the golden buzzer.

After Michael’s touching semi-finals cover performance of Miley Cyrus’ “When I Look At You,” Simon had very positive feedback for the pediatric mental health nurse, who is a proud father of six children, including five adopted sons. He gave a shout-out to famed country singer Garth Brooks, 56, and asked him to write Michael a song for the finals if he made it!

Well soon after, he made it, and now, Trisha Yearwood’s husband has reacted to Simon’s bold request! After watching the clip of Michael singing (he was noticeably impressed), he dished on working with Michael for next week’s show.

“I actually got to talk to Michael, I talked to him on the phone, just to get ideas about, if we would write a song, what in the world would it cover?” Brooks explained on his Facebook Live Series Inside Studio G. “He’s a good dude… you can tell this kid was raised right.”

He added, “These things, you just can’t make them happen, you have to chase the music. So I’m working on it. If it happens, I hope it’s something he likes, [and] I hope it’s something you like.”

During the video, Brooks even thanked Simon for the impactful shout-out! ” That’s a pretty cool vote of confidence,” Brooks said. “And it’s pretty cool to get to do anything with people like [Ketterer]. And it’s a chance to create music, which is what it’s all about for me.”

And Simon couldn’t be happier for the “gentleman and a class act” Michael after hearing from Garth. “Just the fact that Michael knows he’s got that support, that’s a big deal,” Simon told Entertainment Tonight. We agree — and hope Michael wins this entire season because of Garth!
